The C3i’s Amateur-Friendly Design Makes It Unlike Any Wedge You’ve Ever Played
Nearly 2” wide and perfectly cambered from front edge to back, the C3i’s technologically advanced sole prevents digging – so there’s no fear of hitting it fat – while gliding through sand with incredible ease.
The designers also located the bounce to keep the C3i from skidding off tight lies (a major problem with other wide-sole wedges).
And with “relief” in the heel section, the AutoGlide Xtreme Sole lets you open the clubface, if needed, without raising the leading edge and risking a thin shot.
On many wedges, the center of gravity (COG) is placed very low – reducing precious backspin on both bunker and fairway shots. The C3i’s COG is placed higher to boost spin by up to 55% over the top-selling conventional wedges.
This tiny tweak works hand-in-hand with the AutoGlide Xtreme Sole to create unmatched stability through impact, producing consistently accurate shots.
Two common complaints about other wide-sole wedges: They look odd at address, and they don’t provide the satisfying sound, feel and feedback of blade-style models.
The C3i solves these issues with a classic, teardrop-shaped clubhead and a shock-absorbing polymer insert within the cavity. It’s just like hitting a traditional wedge… but with better results.
The C3i’s designers applied a black finish to the clubhead, reducing glare when the sun is overhead. Then they sandblasted the hitting area to frame the ball at setup and painted the bottom groove white to serve as a handy alignment guide. With the C3i, aiming straight at the target is a cinch.
Before putting the C3i on the market, we wanted to find out exactly how it performed for everyday golfers.
